Description
DF64VS | G-IOTA VS
The DF64V, also known as ProBarista G-iota VS, is one of the very first mass-produced grinders offering variable RPM. Boldly aligning its aesthetic with Apple’s design language, this grinder stands out with its sleek and minimalist appearance. Similar to the DF64, this grinder is a single-dose-only device, utilising 64mm DLC-coated burrs that can grind in 90 marked step less grind sizes at an RPM ranging from 600 to 1800. This provides a grind range suitable from French press to espresso.
What is single dose grinding?
Single-dose grinding means weighing the precise amount of coffee needed, grinding it, and then brewing it, leaving the grind chamber empty when the grinder is not in use. The key benefit lies in the ease of transitioning between brewing styles and a diverse range of coffee choices. Imagine brewing a fruity single-origin coffee as espresso, and on the same day, opting for a nutty blend for a traditional cappuccino. Single-dose grinding ensures these shifts are smooth and effortlessly convenient.

Everything broken down:
1 grinder that does it all
The DF64V has you covered, effortlessly grinding from French press coarse to espresso or even Ibrik fine. Serving as your all-in-one solution, it opens the door to the vast world of coffee. Simply score coffees from different roasters worldwide and immerse yourself in the coffee exploration journey we cherish at FREKKO. 64mm flat multi-purpose burrs
The DF64V is equipped with 64mm DLC coated burrs as a standard feature. This specific burr diameter is widely acknowledged for delivering optimal performance in coffee grinders while maintaining a compact design suitable for any workspace.
Powerful 300W variable speed motor
Equipped with a robust 300W brushless variable-speed motor linked to the bottom burr, set your desired RPM setting using the knob on the side of the grinder, choosing a speed ranging from 600 to 1800 RPM (with increments of 100 RPM between each step). While it hasn’t been confirmed that RPM makes a significant change to the flavour, in our tests, we favoured the low 600 RPM for filter coffee and set the dial to 1300 RPM for espresso. Stalling with the DF64V is inevitable; therefore, we recommend pouring the beans into the grind chamber while the burrs are spinning.
90 stepless grind settings
Who wouldn’t want to explore various brewing methods? The DF64V offers you the flexibility to experiment. Whether you crave a delightful hand brew with a coarse grind or seek a finely ground espresso, a simple turn of the dial is all it takes to achieve the desired result.
Low retention grinding
The best single-dose grinders prioritise keeping the grind chamber clean, and the DF64V is no different. Its distinctive feature is the blowing hopper, encouraging you to effortlessly blow out all ground coffee. Additionally, the grinder is slightly tilted and crafted with precision tolerances of 0.02mm, ensuring no coffee gets trapped within the grind chamber. This ensures that every input seamlessly translates to an output. After a proper seasoning, you can look forward to a retention of less than 0.1 gram.
Anti popcorn funnel
No bean wants to get crushed for fun; therefore, occasionally, one happy bean decides to ‘jump’ out of the grind chamber. The new anti-popcorn funnel prevents coffee from flying around.
Magnetic exit chute
Sometimes ground coffee can get stuck in the exit chute of the grinder, therefor the DF64V comes with a 2-piece magnetic exit chute for easy cleaning.
58mm as gold standard
Given that most espresso machines use a 58mm portafilter, the designers of the DF64V were considerate in their approach. They equipped the grinder with a 58mm aluminum color matching dosing cup.
Is this the grinder for you? If you’re in the market for a single-dose electric coffee grinder that can grind from filter coffee-coarse to espresso-fine, the DF64V deserves a spot on your shortlist. With its impressive ability to produce uniform grind particles, variable RPM, remarkably low retention, and sleek minimal design, this grinder caters to coffee enthusiasts at every level, from curious beginners to seasoned connoisseurs.
